The aim of the Autumn–School in Tunis, Oct. 12-18, 2025, is to train presentation skills to communicate with a talk and a poster of the own research results in an internationally renowned conference like the Conference `Stochastic in Mathematical Finance and Physics’ in Hammamet, Oct. 20-25,2025. All students attending the Autumn-School in Tunis will discuss their results with renowned scientists at the Hammamet Conference during a poster session. Six students attending the Autumn-School will be selected to present also a talk at the Hammamet-Conference.

Dear Master Students of the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences,

I am excited to share the following opportunity with you. I am organizing an Autumn-School in Tunis, Tunisia, from October 12th (arrival) to October 18th, 2025, in collaboration with the University of Tunis El Manar and the University of Marrakesh Cadi Ayyad University, with the funding provided by the DAAD. Moreover, after the Autumn-School we will all participate at the Conference `Stochastic in Mathematical Finance and Physics` which will take place from October 20th to October 25th (leave), 2025, at the Radisson Blue Resort Thalasso, in Hammamet, Tunisia.

The aim of the Autumn–School in Tunis is to train presentation skills to communicate with a talk and a poster of the own research results in an internationally renowned conference like the Conference `Stochastic in Mathematical Finance and Physics’ in Hammamet. All students attending the Autumn-School in Tunis will discuss their results with renowned scientists at the Hammamet Conference during a poster session. Six students attending the Autumn-School will be selected to present also a talk at the Hammamet-Conference.

The Autumn-School is organized by Prof. Dr. Saloua Mani Aouadi (University Tunis “El Manar”), Prof. Dr. Olfa Draouil Aouadi (University Tunis “El Manar”), Prof. Dr. Ouknin (Cadi Ayyad University), Prof. Dr. Barbara Rüdiger (University Wuppertal) and M.Sc. Irene Ventura (University Wuppertal) The Hammamet-Conference is organized in collaboration with several universities and organizations:

• Saloua Mani Aouadi-Tunis El Manar University;
• Nacira Agram-KTH University; • Giulia di Nunno-University of Oslo;
• Olfa Draouil-Tunis El Manar University;
• Martin Friesen-Dublin City University;
• Astrid Hilbert-Linnaeus University;
• Asma Khedher- University of Amsterdam;
• Bernt Øksendal-University of Oslo;
• Barbara Rüdiger-Bergische University Wuppertal;
• Josef Teichmann-ETH Zürich;
• Nizar Touzi-New York University;
• Michèle Vanmaele-Ghent University

Further information and updates regarding the Hammamet-Conference can be found at the following link conference2025.streamlit.app

We are searching for three motivated Master’s students with an interest in Stochastic Analysis, Functional Analysis, Mathematical Finance and/or Mathematical Physics to apply. The selection of these students will be based on a presentation of a topic that can be related to their thesis or a subject that the candidate is interested in exploring further.

As a part of the selection, we request:
• A title and abstract of your talk (18 minutes talk)
• A structured presentation of the same topic through a poster;
• A motivation letter

The application deadline is 22.09.2025

The application should be sent via email to me at ruediger@uni-wuppertal.de, the PhD student Irene Ventura at ventura@uni-wuppertal.de and the secretary droste@uni-wuppertal.de.

If you have any questions contact all three of us through the same emails.

The Autumn-School will also involve Master's students and PhDs from the University of Tunis ‘El Manar’ and the University of Marrakesh Cadi Ayyad University. During the week in Tunis, students will participate by sharing their research topics through both a talk presentation and a poster presentation. Organizers will review both presentations and provide suggestions for improvement, allowing them to present a revised version at the end of the week. The six best works will be selected by the organizers to be presented as talks at the upcoming conference. Additionally, all students attending the Autumn-School will present a corrected version of their poster during the Hammamet-Conference.

The three selected Master’s students will be sponsored by:
• 850 Euro for the mobility, flight from Düsseldorf (departure October 12th and return October 25th) and transport from Tunis to Hammamet.
• Accommodation and meals for the entire duration of the stay (55 Euro per day)

Remark that the Hotel fees are higher. It is convenient to share Hotel rooms with other students. Please contact us regarding this.

The study trip to Tunisia is undertaken at your own risk.
